Experience / Philosophy:
Mark has a life of experience outdoors.  He has over 20 years of experience facilitating top-rope rock climbing and rappelling.  Mark loves everything water and gained his first canoe guide experience in 1977 at age 11.  Each year he has led our 30-mile whitewater canoe trip down the Flambeau River.  He has logged and led several canoe trips to Quetico Provincial Park in Canada, kayaked the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior, and spent an unreasonable number of nights backpacking and camping under the stars in remote areas of the West and Midwest.

Providing safe adventure programming gives us a platform on which to build redemptive relationships.  Real relationships allow us to do the Ephesians 4:15 ministry of wrapping the Truth in Love.  It is the Truth of God, put forth in His Word, and carried forward by God’s Spirit that will impact kids’ hearts for eternity.Mark and his wife Lynne Massey joined the Victory staff in 1995.  After serving as houseparents for three years, Mark was asked to take the director position.  Since '98, Mark has not only directed the ministry, he has also regularly involved himself in the lives of the guys.  Mark has integrated his interests into the ministry, developing and leading the adventure programs.  He is an active guide for rock climbing, camping, canoeing, and mountain biking.  Lynne works alongside Mark in the parenting program and admissions department.  Both are involved in the ministries of their local church, Faith Baptist Church in Pembine, Wisconsin.

Family Life:
Mark trusted Jesus Christ as Savior as a teenager and went on to grow in the Lord.  He served on a bus route and took missions trips to Mexico and Haiti that opened up his eyes and heart to the needs of the world for the Lord Jesus Christ.  After spending the summer of 1986 in Haiti he moved from Amarillo, in north Texas back to his childhood home area in Winter Haven, Florida where he met Lynne.

Lynne was saved as a child and saw God work in her life through many people in her local church and Christian school.  She traveled a summer with the Academy of Arts drama team and ministered faithfully in her local church.  It was at her church during her senior year of high school that she met Mark.  After their marriage in May of 1988, they served together in various programs of their church.

After four years of ministering to teens and their families in their local church, Mark and Lynne believed that God would have them get more training and commit their lives to full-time vocational ministry. In 1992 they moved to Wisconsin to complete their undergraduate training at Northland Baptist Bible College, both graduating with bachelor degrees in 1995.  Mark later completed his Master of Arts in Theology/Biblical Counseling from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Minneapolis, MN in May of 2008.

Mark and Lynne have five children: Laura, Rory, Russell, Grace, and Emma.  Laura is a junior business and Biblical Counseling Major at Maranatha Baptist University, with plans to become Mrs Juvinall in May.  Rory is a sophomore Pastoral Ministries major at MBU.  Russell is a senior in High School and is planning to enlist in the Marines upon graduation in May of 2018.  Grace is in high school, playing everything “ball” that she can, and learning piano and guitar.  Emma is in 6th grade and soaking up her schooling and taking voice and piano.  Though there isn’t much quiet in our house, our lazy Chihuahua, Peanut exemplifies peace amidst the hurry of life.
